Evolving the HSS Brand ‘Look’: Making Our ‘One Voice’ Stronger & Easier
You often hear me talk about how we are an evolving and growing organization. As part of that, I am pleased to share with you a new step starting today – an evolution of the HSS graphic look, or ‘visual identity’. You might notice that my blog looks a bit different today, and so does our website and intranet.
You will be hearing about this graphic evolution across several channels this week, but I want to take the time to personally explain the importance here in my blog.
When we think about a brand, we think about how something looks and feels also on the outside. This is especially important to those who do not yet know an organization or brand on the inside. We all know that on the inside, HSS is represented by our thriving culture, which results in unmatched quality, outcomes and patient satisfaction. It’s important that what is visible on the outside matches this.
While we travel on our Strategic Roadmap, we are undergoing an evolution on the inside that extends to how we look and feel visually. While our logo is not changing from the HSS Monogram introduced in 2017, we are now evolving other aspects of our visual identity with the goal of expressing the HSS brand most effectively, efficiently and consistently.
Let me share some examples of how you will see this evolution across the organization.
- One clear, consistent HSS logo
- A new system – Templafy – that will integrate HSS branded templates into the PowerPoint and Word programs on your own work computer, and give us all the same (but personalized) email signature. When you log into your computer tomorrow, you’ll be prompted with very simple set-up steps that will take less than a minute to complete.
- A new way to apply HSS branding in service and location names and graphics, in all aspects of producing HSS-branded materials in print, digital or any other form. What is crucial to keep in mind with this evolution is that what remains at our core is unchanging. Our mission, vision and values – all of which are rooted in and stem from Hospital for Special Surgery – will always remain the same.
