HSS Influence

We have a responsibility to share our knowledge across the industry. There are so many ways we do this – through education, innovation, research, etc. – and we recently had several examples that I want to share with you here.

First is a new video series we are creating for other surgeons and physicians in orthopedics, pediatric orthopedics and rheumatology. These videos will complement written stories in our upcoming annual report, which will highlight advances we have made in the field through research, innovation and surgical techniques. The first three of this 15 video series are now live on our website and feature several of our leading experts explaining advancements in the field. Please take a moment to view the videos here: www.HSS.edu/ForPhysicians.

Next are two conferences we attended. One is called HLTH, which took place in Las Vegas from October 27-30. This conference brings together senior leaders from across payers, providers, employers, investors, fast-growing startups, pharma, policymakers and innovation centers to talk about creating the future of health. We brought the interactive HSS Cube: “How You Move” Experience, and HSS Rehabilitation and Sports Performance team members assessed and interviewed more than 100 visitors. The conference also foreshadowed HSS Health for more than 6,000 senior representatives from major employers, payers, innovators, investors and providers.

The second conference is one that is still going on right now – the 2019 American College of Rheumatology Annual Meeting. HSS division of Rheumatology leaders are joining specialists from across the country for presentations and discussions at this year’s meeting. HSS Rheumatology is offering 14 Q&A sessions on the exhibit floor, giving visitors an intimate opportunity to speak with our team of experts. HSS is also presenting new research related to rheumatology and orthopedic surgery with a focus on enhancing the diagnosis and treatment of chronic conditions and optimizing patient outcomes.

These are just a few more examples of how the advancements at HSS are helping to advance our field far and wide.

Everyone at HSS contributes to our influence.
