Looking Ahead
I hope you all enjoyed the Labor Day weekend. It was a much deserved break for your hard work and dedication to making HSS the excellent institution it is today. And for those of you who spent the holiday caring for our patients, I would like to extend a big Thank You! Because of you our patients felt safe and well-cared-for.
Although we technically still have a few more weeks of summer left, Labor Day always feels like the mark of a new season to me. The weather begins to change, kids go back to school, summer vacations come to an end and things just start to feel a little bit different. It is the perfect time to look ahead and prepare for big things we know are coming.
There are countless initiatives and events in our near future. One very important one is the upcoming Gallup Engagement Survey, which is a way that you can share your feedback. Your opinion is so valuable to HSS, and I ask that you please take just a few moments to fill out the anonymous survey when it goes live on September 10. That date is also our annual Engagement Day event where you can stop by to fill out your survey in person and also learn more about what some of your colleagues are doing.
We have so much more to look forward to, from opening new locations to continuing to improve upon our already world-class patient care and so much more. I invite you to share what you are most looking forward to in the upcoming months in the comments below.

Well said, Lou. I love this time of the year.
Professionally, I’m looking forward to leading a group of talented teammates that will help drive process improvements in Patient Access and Revenue Cycle as a whole, which will strongly support The HSS Roadmap to 2025.
On a personal level, I’m looking forward to my Cleveland Browns beating your Steelers for the first time in many years this football season! 🙂

I’m looking forward to the Financial Assistance program going live in Epic in the coming weeks. Renee Kwok did some great work on MyChart that will allow patients to request financial assistance through MyHSS.
I’m looking forward to our new location opening in Florida, as I know it is a location that will benefit greatly from our world-class care!
I am looking forward to the new Pain Management Initiatives with the new team when I come back from my military duties. Happy Fall everyone and thank you for supporting the military family which I belong. Morie Alo
